Fisher lauds Brady Creek program and loan funds for Brady lake, crediting Johnson and Rivers while praising Red Smith and the Soil Conservation Service. He recalls early upstream flood control goals, emphasizes local initiative over Washington bureaucrats, and urges continued water conservation amid federal spending claims.

Newman Barnett shows further improvement. Melvin, patient at Brady Hospital since Sept 26, is reported much improved. Mr and Mrs Thomas Lira of Wall are the parents of a daughter born at Brady Hospital on Saturday Oct 15.
Melvin PTA held a meeting with Supt. Herrington outlining committees for the upcoming Halloween Carnival at the local school on October 29. Mrs. Avert Carlson led the session. finance chair Mrs. Joe Dale Johnson announced committee assignments and PTA purchases, including a popcorn popper.
Home Demonstration Agent Mrs Vyvien Duncan presented a program on arranging Living Room Furnishings for the Fife Club meeting on October 13. She urged scaling furniture to room size creating activity centers and clear traffic lanes to avoid clutter. A council meeting was announced for October 21, annual reports due. Hostess Mrs James Finlay served drinks and cookies to attendees including Mrs Paul Sohn and Mrs Vyvien Duncan. Next club meeting is October 27 in the club room.
