Commissioners Set New Voting Places in McCulloch County
McCulloch County Commissioners' Court on Monday announced new voting locations for precincts 1 through 4 in Brady. Precinct 1 uses Brady High School, Precinct 2 the F M Richards Memorial Library, Precinct 3 the Boy Scout Lodge, and Precinct 4 the National Guard Armory. The two courthouse boxes were abolished and 12 folding voting booths will be constructed for use at the sites.

Dr Waldine Tauch creates an eight foot six inch bronze of General Douglas MacArthur for Howard Payne College in front of the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom. Dedication aligns with the 25th anniversary of Leyte landing on Oct 20 1944. The project involved extensive research, fundraising by Texas students, a long casting process in Italy, and will be unveiled by the General's widow.

The McCulloch County Farm Bureau will elect six directors at its annual meeting on Tuesday at 7 30 p m in the Brady School Cafeteria. Resolutions will be debated and Farm Bureau Seminar students will be recognized. Prizes include ten $5 drawings and several sponsor gifts. Registration starts at 7 p m. the event welcomes the whole family.

Central Texas Telephone Co-operative, Inc. held its 16th annual meeting in Goldthwaite with about 150 members present. Re-elected to board terms were Ralph Duren Mullin Victor W Limmer Priddy and Tom Howell Cherokee Bend district. John O Holloway Voca elected director of district 6 replacing W E Hardin. Holdovers include Wilson Head Delton Barnett Paul Schumann Paul Engdahl and Larry Oxley. Officers for the new year are Head president Limmer vice president Barnett secretary treasurer and Schumann assistant secretary treasurer. James McBride REA representative spoke on service.
