Thirteen year old Rosita Soto has completed five foot operations with the right foot out of the cast. She returned from Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio and must return Oct 16 for examination of the left foot. Doctors praise her recovery and expect braces and crutches as she grows.

Showers Follow Cool Front Across McCulloch County Brady

A cool front brought showers Tuesday night across McCulloch County Texas with Brady recording 0.32 inch. West and southwest areas saw heavier rain up to 2.5 inches including a 2.3 inch thunderstorm near Carrol Colony that raised Brady Creek. Rabbit Ivy Comfort Ranch Ford Ranch Melvin reported rainfall totals ranging from 1 to 1.8 inches while a night drizzle left up to 0.5 inch statewide.

Trans Texas Airways marks 10th birthday Friday

Trans Texas Airways celebrates its tenth anniversary with two DC-5 planes and routes spanning more than 4 000 air miles across Texas Louisiana Arkansas and Tennessee. The airline's DC-3 Starliners serve more than 54 cities while a theoretical line from New York to Los Angeles to Seattle would extend its reach. Brady has seen twice daily visits since May 1954, with inaugural ceremonies drawing over 2 000 people at Curtis Field.

Methodist Men To Serve Barbecue At First Church

The Men's Fellowship of the First Methodist Church will sponsor a barbecue in the church fellowship hall on Wednesday night October 16. An engineering study for Brady Creek's proposed city lake could be finished within two weeks. Bill Grant, Chamber of Commerce water committee councillor, learned the tentative date during a call to Freese and Nichols in Fort Worth. Field tests are done. cost estimates await, with the project not expected to exceed prior city estimates. The site offers good drainage, though the railroad would need relocation.

Floyd Hill, general agent for the George W. Cole Three Ring Wild Animal Circus, announced Brady shows on Tuesday October 29 at Richards Park sponsored by the Brady Lions Club. The act features a live jungle bred African rhinoceros, elephants, lions, leopards and more with top performers including the Rawls teenage gymnasts and Miss Jeanie Kreel aerialist.
