General Telephone Company of the Southwest will introduce Expanded Direct Distance Dialing on December 7 across Brady Junction Kingsland Llano London Mason Menard Richland Springs Tow and West Llano. About 90 percent of US telephones will be reachable directly with two letters and five numerals or seven numerals, after dialing access codes 112 or 110 then the city area code and seven digit number. Instruction booklets will be mailed to customers before the launch.

Five Big Spring residents two men Lloyd Nichols 22 John Smith 20 Charles Crawley 18 and two girls ages 16 and 17 were arrested in Brady by DPS narcotics agents about 3 am Monday. They faced two counts each of possession of dangerous drugs with bonds set at 10000 for the men and 500 for the juveniles. Authorities recovered methadone amphetamine marijuana and what was believed LSD plus money.

Rosalinda Sedillo aged 22 months died at 1005 p.m. Monday in Brady Hospital after a sudden illness. Funeral services were held at 830 p.m. Tuesday at St Patrick's Church with Rev Ben Verbrugge officiating. Burial followed at Rest Haven Cemetery.
