Mrs. Lula Johnson 86 Dies in San Antonio

Lula Johnson of San Antonio and formerly of Lohn, aged 86, died Monday at Robert B. Green Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Ash officiating. burial followed in Lohn Cemetery. Survivors include daughter Edna Webster of San Antonio, three brothers, a sister, and several nephews.

Bulldog Band to Marching Contest in Ranger on Saturday

The Brady Bulldog Marching Band under director James Mallow will compete at the Region VII UIL marching contest in Ranger. About 83 bands will perform. Brady seeks another Sweepstakes Award after four consecutive wins. The group leaves Brady at 10:20 a.m. and returns between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Father of Bradyite Dies In Brownwood

Dr. Homer C. Bowden 84 of Byrd's Store died Tuesday night in a Brownwood nursing home. Services were held Thursday at Wright's Colonial Chapel with burial in May Cemetery. Born November 9 1885 in Russellville Arkansas he was a physician who lived in Brown County 80 years and was a Methodist. Survivors include wife Velma Bowden a daughter Mrs Fred Andrews two stepdaughters Mrs Don Flores and Mrs James Russell two sons Walter Bowden and Altus Bowden a stepson J C Bibby a sister Mrs Ada Prentice 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Don Neal Joins Brady National Bank

McCulloch County rancher Don Neal will join the Brady National Bank asso ciated with the institution starting January 1. George Carruthers announced the appointment. Neal, a Rochelle native, will remain on his ranch near Rochelle for the time being. Neal is a 1954 Texas Tech graduate and U S Air Force veteran with a Rochelle Methodist Church background. He and wife Wilma Martin have three children.
