Brady Celebrates Armistice Victory Across Town
Brady residents poured into the streets on Monday morning as Germany signed the armistice ending World War I. Fireworks, bells, and loud celebrations rang through the town with parades, band music, and a three hour joy event at the courthouse lawn. Children dismissed from school joined in songs from My Country Tis of Thee to Dixie as neighbors praised peace and liberty. The Lost Creek community and others nearby documented similar rejoicing while observers noted November 11 may become a national holiday marking the war's end.
