Polio Vaccine Offered to All in Sunday Community Clinics
McCulloch County residents from infants to seniors are urged to receive Sabin Oral Polio Vaccine Sunday at four sites Brady High School National Guard Armory Rochelle Community Center and Melvin High School. Free distribution 12 noon to 6 pm at two sites 12:30 to 2:30 pm and 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Transportation available via Chamber of Commerce LY 7-2420. Two sugar lumps doses will be given and all three vaccine types to provide complete protection. Sponsored by McCulloch County Medical Society and Beta Sigma Phi.

Connally Wins Texas Governor Race In McCulloch County
Democrat John Connally won the Texas gubernatorial contest with 1,118 votes in McCulloch County to Republican Jack Cox's 731, and statewide totals showed Connally with 781,563 to Cox's 661,126. Preston Smith won the lieutenant governor race with 1,426 votes in the county and 856,816 statewide. Only two of 14 constitutional amendments passed in McCulloch County, while most statewide offices and amendments outcomes reflected strong Democratic support.
