Five youth clubs in McCulloch County volunteered for the Youth for United Fund drive here last Monday evening. Brady Chapter of Young Homemakers assisted, with students and leaders listed among the volunteers and organizers. The campaign netted $806.65.

Brady Bulldogs Prepare for Burnet Invasion At Home
Brady coach Del Wilson announced the Bulldogs’ best workout of the year as they prepare for Burnet at Bulldog Stadium. Burnet, 6-2 and 3-0 in district, features QB Jesse Crow, fast back Willie Maxwell, and three-year starters including guard Charles Castillo and end Sidney Mulkey. Kickoff is 8 p.m. with plans to attack the Burnet defense using three formations and limited depth but strong effort.

The Brady National Bank, via Hardin Jones, reports 1 000 of the 1971 Eisenhower dollar coins ordered from the Denver mint. The copper clad cupro nickel coins sell for 1 dollar face value. silver proof coins at 10 dollars are no longer available. Jones predicts limited circulation, with collectors and souvenirs the main fate.

Health Careers Club Attends One Day Workshop
Brady High School Health Careers Club will attend a one day workshop for high school students in Big Spring on November 20 at Big Spring High School. President Steve Calley leads 12 members. Water Line Construction Begins At Lake Club
Officials of the Simpson Lake Club meet with the City Council to authorize a six inch water main across Bear Creek to the club property. The city will reimburse the club $30 per installed meter, with 23 existing users and 99 club lots potential city water users. Construction by James Goode Construction Co. started in the Winters Sub-Division and should be in place in about two weeks with water ready in about 30 days weather permitting.
