Bloodmobile visit to Brady seeks 120 donors
Blood chairman Rev. Robert Graham urges 120 donors to meet the year’s quota as a Bloodmobile stops at the Fourth and Bridge Street Church of Christ from 11 am to 4 pm. Signups are at local businesses and with volunteers in Melvin Doole Placid Rochelle Brady and Lohn.

Claud W Knight Dies At Home In Brady
Claud William Knight 75 of Brady died at 7 15 am Tuesday at his home after a short illness. Funeral services were held at 3 pm Wednesday at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev Ray Ash. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Born February 24 1894 in Bell County he lived in McCulloch County since 1916 and in Brady since 1962. A retired raucher he married Brutte Mart Gamblin January 16 1916. she died in 1964. Survivors include son Claud Knight Jr of Scottsdale Arizona daughter Mrs Bill Harwell of Brady and three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death.

Brady High 74 Graduates Slated For Exercises At Stadium
Seventy four Brady High School seniors will be presented at 8 30 p m May 2 in the west grandstand at Bulldog Stadium. If weather fails they meet in the BHS auditorium. The Rev Robert Graham will give the commencement address and the Rev Charles Ray Ash will pronounce the invocation. Standout awards will be presented by local clubs and the Damrosch Music Club. The program closes with the Alma Mater Stand for the Black and Gold. Principal F L Whiteley and Board President K Steffens will hand out diplomas.

W K Granville of McCulloch County has been appointed supervisor on the San Saba Brady Soil and Water Conservation District Board to fill the unexpired term of the late Bobbie Lee Miller. The term runs to October 1960 with an election then. Granville, a 1941 Texas A&M graduate, has lived in the county all his life and is married to Merle Brock.

Mrs Charles Nelin aged 36 of Corpus Christi died suddenly Sunday night at her home. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Tuesday in Corpus Christi. Mr and Mrs PD A Nelin of Brady attended their daughter in law's services.

Beef Study Group Stops Here Sunday
About 75 ranchmen packers and other cattlemen from 15 states will stop in Brady Sunday as part of a nine day Texas Beef Making Study Tour sponsored by Western Livestock Journal. The tour includes visits to White and Co Ranch Mercury Granite Hills Hereford Ranch Llano and meets in Fort Worth.

Brownwood Man Convicted on Aggravated Assault Charge
Tommy D. Salinas of Brownwood received a two year jail term and a $1000 fine with probation after jurors found him not guilty of assault with intent to murder but guilty of aggravated assault in 85th District Court presided by Judge Joe Dibrell. Prosecutors were George Day and Murray Jordan. Defense counsel was Aubrey Davee. In the same session Allen Davis was found not guilty of theft and W. C. Jones was fined $25 after pleading to a misdemeanor assault.

Goodyear Employee Injured in West Texas Crash
An employee of the Goodyear Service Store in Brady suffered a broken collar bone in a one vehicle crash about 1 a.m. 12 miles west of Brady on US 87. Ronnie Middleton manager of the store was uninjured. Wayne Parker was taken to Brady Hospital. The pickup, loaded with steel, was demolished after Middleton fell asleep at the wheel. DPS patrolman Jack Straley investigated.
