Electric Board Makes Math Real at Gary School
In Gary School students use an “electronic arithmetic” game to match fractions. A network of conductors and two 1.5 volt batteries lights lights when a student selects the correct reduced fraction from each row. The gadget adds points to the student’s grade as each correct choice lights up a bulb. Principal Clean Wieka notes the device blends hands on learning with arithmetic accuracy.
