Postmaster Proposes First Class Mail Increase to Meet Deficit

Mrs Hoover Dies After Long Illness in Brady
Ada Mae Hoover of Brady died at Brady Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with Charles Grimes, pastor of Brady Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery. Born June 29, 1880 in Belton, she had lived in Brady since 1926. She married Coo Hoover in 1900. he died in 1932. Survivors include five sons Howard in Odessa Ira and A D Hoover of Brady O D Hoover and Roy Hoover of Terrell a sister Mrs Tom Turner of Melvin a stepdaughter Mia Ruby Emery of Lubbock 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

James Maxwell Dies in Brady After Illness
James Charles Maxwell, 69, of Brady, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in Brady Hospital after a lengthy illness. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Woodman of the World Cemetery in Farmersville. Born October 22, 1890 in Van Buren Arkansas, he was a retired produce man who lived in Brady the past five years after moving from Crystal City. He married Hazel C. Meflyea in Crystal City in 1944. Survivors include his wife, a son James Maxwell of New York City, a daughter Mrs. Ray Sloan of Dallas, a sister Mrs. Clarkverett of Herndon Virginia and five grandchildren.

Prices Steady At Wool Sale At Farmers Ranchers Co op
The bulk of 17 month wool sold at 58 to 63 cents per pound grease in the first sealed bid sale at the Farmers Ranchers Co op. Seven bidders moved over 291000 pounds with totals rising to over 250000 pounds sold by Wednesday afternoon. Tim Jones said the sale was good and prices were satisfactory with better length wool earning higher money. Willman & Co of Boston led buyers with 17170 pounds of 12 month wool, followed by Forte Dupee Sawyer Co and J P Stevens Co among others buying large lots.
