Jamie Williamson executive vice president of Brady Savings and Loan Association was elected president of the Brady Chamber of Commerce for 1970 71 at a regular meeting. He succeeds Aubrey Bierman after the annual banquet April 16. New officers include D A Harkrider first vice president and J D Bailey second vice president. Larry B Smith was re elected treasurer. A sidewalk sale is planned for Brady on Saturday March 14 and the city will share half the cost with the Chamber to re condition two welcome signs on U S Highway 87.

Whitworth Signs Pre Enrollment Agreement With Angelo State
David Whitworth, 220 pound tackle from Brady and district champion Brady Bulldog, signed a pre enrollment agreement with Angelo State University. ASU coach Bill Lane praised Whitworth for joining the trenches and aiding their line. Whitworth is the son of V C Whitworth of Doole and plans to study agriculture and business.

Owen Barker Longtime Brady Resident Dies at 77
William Owen Barker 77 of Brady died about 5 45 pm Wednesday at Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Funeral at 2 pm Friday in Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with Gene Lyles officiating. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Born March 16 1894 in Burnet County he lived in Brady since 1912. He ran a wholesale meat business and farmed until recently. Survived by wife Ethel Larremore two sons Clayburn and Ernest Barker a daughter Louise Jordan six brothers and five sisters, plus five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Brady Relays Set to Host 250 Athletes in 29th Run
Some 250 track performers from Central West Texas will gather Saturday for Brady Relays.
