Beach Beauty Show Opens Jubilee With 16 Contestants
Sixteen beach beauties compete in the Miss Heart O Texas pageant opening the 34th July Jubilee at Prady Hig School Bulldog Stadium. Out of town judges will pick the queen from the field, with former Jubilee queens making appearances and a bikini reveal teased. Reserved seats cost 1.50, and a country club ball follows at 9:30 p.m. with a 2 per couple entry.

Shetland Pony Races and Goat Roping at Jubilee Track
A special program at Jubilee race track features Shetland pony races and open goat roping at 2 p m Saturday. The event warms up for Sunday through July Fourth horse races. Children ride the ponies and calf ropers practice ahead of races Sunday to Tuesday. Tickets cost 1 for adults and 50 cents for children.

Shetland Pony Show Draws Crowds at Jubilee Park

Jiggs Wright, 40, long time Brady resident and auto mechanic for Sheffield Townsend, died about 9:15 a.m. Thursday at a San Angelo hospital after a Wednesday night illness. He will be returned to Brady for services at Wilkerson Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Saturday.
