A large campaign rally is planned for Saturday at 7 30 in Bulldog Stadium where 22 Miss Heart of Texas nominees and their managers will urge voters to back their proteges. Rev Lamar Leifeste will host with speeches skits and campaign antics expected. Beta Sigma Phi and the Coronation Pageant sponsor the event. Miss Heart of Texas will be named during the July 1 coronation and pageant followed by a parade float appearance on July Jubilee day July 2 at 10 am.

Grain Crop Harvest Yields Mixed Across County
County Agent Kuykendall reports small grain yields were uneven this spring. Oats averaged 30 to 35 bushels per acre while wheat ranged 12 to 16 with some up to 25. Hill Country Flooding and Brady Rain Totals Reported
A heavy rainstorm drenched the Hill Country with up to nine inches causing flash flooding in Kerrville and Fredericksburg where streets flooded and businesses closed. In Brady the rainfall reached 2.70 inches at some farms and 1.60 inches at the weather observer’s site, with widespread totals across McCulloch County and surrounding areas.

12 year old Eubank killed in Waco scooter crash

Housing Authority Starts Appraisals in Brady Project
The Housing Authority of Brady authorized appraisals on three of four sites for a low cost housing project. FHA approval of the fourth site is pending a minor technicality.
