Heavy and intermittent showers swept Brady and McCulloch County since last Friday night totaling 29 inches in Brady as verified by Mrs J R Cochran. Other areas recorded traces to 0 79 inches with bands of rain across the county and light sprinkles continuing into Tuesday noon. The Herald notes overcast skies and moderate temperatures with forecasts predicting scattered showers statewide.

Death of 100 year old Huston Vickery in Rochelle
Huston Vickery 100, longtime Rochelle area farmer, died at home in Brady after a lengthy illness. Born April 4, 1865 in Nashville, he lived in McCulloch County since 1905 and belonged to Rochelle Christian Church. Funeral services were held June 13 at Wilkerson Chapel with burial in Rochelle Cemetery. he leaves two sons, three daughters, a brother, 22 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.

McCulloch 4-H Horse Show Promises Youth Competition
McCulloch County 4-H sponsors a horse show next Monday at 7:30 pm at the rodeo arena. Open to all youths ages nine to nineteen who join 4-H, events include halter and performance classes with top showmen advancing to the district show in Junction and then the state show in Dallas. Trail Drivers Recall Wagon Trip With Gibbs
Johnson City Trail Drivers visit through weekend prompting Police Chief Dorman Gibbs to recall driving a covered wagon from Seagraves to Fredonia during the Depression in 1932. He described rough roads coyotes and a shave stop before Brady and Eden, then a wagon accident near Whiteland Hill injuring the driver while others questioned braking methods.
