The McCulloch County Democratic Executive Committee drew ballots for the July 2 Democratic primary. Council OKays Payment as New Swim Pool Opens
The Brady City Council approved a $4,446 payment to Leslie Quain for the new Negro swimming pool at Willie Washington Park. They also regularized Mrs. Nelson Dukes as Country Club hostess and noted a new shed and three picnic tables at Richards Park near completion.

Veteran Santa Fe Railroad workers retire at Brady depot
After over five decades with Santa Fe F. W. Lazalier Brady station agent since late 1920 retires. N G Lyle also ends his veteran service here as an employee. Lazalier began railroading in Collinsville Indian Territory April 1 1904. Brady station will become an agent operator post. He cites confinement as reason for voluntary retirement.

Voters Elect Queen of Jubilee Saturday
McCulloch County residents vote Saturday to choose a queen for the 1956 July Jubilee. One box will operate in the courthouse from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Any resident who can read and write may cast a ballot. Mrs Barry Francks and Parker Pumphrey oversee the election.
