Mrs Lillian Meers Dies In Brady Home
Mrs Lillian Gaynell Meers 60 of Brady was found dead at her home Tuesday. Brady Justice of the Peace ruled natural causes likely a heart attack, time of death about noon. Funeral Thursday at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robert Graham officiating. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Born Oct 9 1908 in Fort Worth she married R E Meers Rup in 1925. he died earlier this year. Survived by mother Mrs Oscar Galloway of Fort Worth a sister Mrs Clyde Temberton of Fort Worth and two nephews.

McCulloch County suffered hail and damaging winds with pea to golf ball size hail across areas near Voca and Brady. Vegetation was stripped, telephone service interrupted, and a grass fire 15 miles south of Melvin burned about 500 acres until midnight. Weather observers recorded varying rainfall totals with Brady estimates up to 1.25 inches.

The Rev Robert E Graham pastor of Brady East Sweden and Menard Presbyterian churches will be honored Sunday June 29 from 5 to 8 pm with an open house at the Presbyterian manse 1495 S Blackburn Friends and church members invited Born July 12 1915 in Greenville he studied Texas Tech and Princeton Seminary ordained June 25 1959 in Shickshinny Pa He has served in Pennsylvania Texas and Brady since 1965 He is married to Helen Coats and they have three children and one grandchild.

Mysterious Indians Visit Brady Special Camp Adventure
Fifteen Brady Special Education pupils attend a five day summer camp at Enchanted Rock in Llano County May 26 to 30. Camp activities include nature hikes crafts swimming weight lifting and games with teen counselors and adult sponsors guiding behavior and learning about nature and cultures.

Two Men Injured In Head On Crash West Of Brady
A rain soaked head on collision on U S Highway 67 about four fifteen p m Wednesday injured Maneo Milford Sims age sixty one of Lubbock and Don Williford age thirty one of San Angelo. Both were hospitalized in Brady with Sims in shock and Williford with head lacerations and possible rib fractures. Both cars were destroyed as DPS and a sheriff investigated.

July Jubilee Float Heads to Stonewall for Peach Jamboree

Transfer policy cuts transfers to hardship only
County School Supt. J B Herrington announced a policy change limiting non hardship school transfers. The 1969 70 deadline is July 15 with future years returning to June 1. Hardship transfers follow defined windows and require district approval with final decisions by the receiving district and the Commissioner of Education.

Mrs. Carrie I. Bissett 86 Dies After Long Illness
Carrie I. Bissett of Brady, age 86, died at 2 45 a m Wednesday in Brady Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Thursday at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with Rev Ray Ash of First Baptist Church Brady officiating. Burial followed in Lohn Cemetery. Born December 7 1882 in Rockport she lived in Brady 11 years and was a former Lohn resident. She married J B Bissett December 25 1901. he died October 10 1947. Survivors include son E I Bissett of Lohn brother N N Barber of Fort Worth grandson Wayne Bissett of Corpus Christi and two great grandchildren Pallbearers were W S Fowler Fred Lohn S E Huie Robert Bratton Leon Barton and Henry Land all of Lohn and Brady.
