Immunization Clinic Set for June 18 at School Auditorium
A free immunization clinic for pre school children will run June 18 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at South Ward Elementary School auditorium. Nurse Mrs. James Dale Carson says vaccines for DPT polio rubella and measles will be available. Parents urged to bring children to receive free vaccines.

Reverend Leifeste to Take Leave After 12 Years in Brady
The Rev. Lamar Leifeste will take a one year supernumerary leave from First United Methodist Church Brady after 12 years as pastor. He will work as assistant funeral director and pre need counselor at Wilkerson Funeral Home while reevaluating his ministry and supporting his daughter Sue’s Brady High School senior year. Leifeste has been a longtime civic leader and church board member, with roles in Boy Scouts and local fundraisers. He is a Castell native and Southwestern University graduate, WWII veteran, married to Joan Sturman with three children.

Elizabeth Harkrider, a Brady High School senior, will travel from Detroit to Copenhagen on June 25 to live with the Garon Kjerstadius family in Trollhättan, Sweden for two months under Youth For Understanding. She will work part time in a flower shop and join family activities near a lake, missing the first week of school upon return in August.

County completes ROW purchase for Farm Road 765
McCulloch County Commissioners notified the Texas Highway Commission that all right of way for Farm to Market Road 765 from US 377 to US 283 is purchased. The ROW cost about $200,000. The court approved school tax collection on a fee basis for Lohn ISD and burial of cable by General Telephone along a county road east of Brady.
