Olympic Program Draws 86 Boys for Weight Training
Bull Dog Stadium hosts a morning track and weight lifting program with 86 boys enrolled. City Sells More Bonds To Continue Lake Work
The City Council voted to sell an additional 89,000 in water works bonds to the Farmers Home Administration to fund Brady Lake construction. This brings total bonds issued for the lake to 840,000 of the original 1,485,070. In other action a petition to annex 3.5 acres of the Plateau Motel property was noted.

Summer band classes start Monday at Brady High
Brady High School begins summer band classes in the band hall with director James Mallow stating students should bring instruments. Registration times for new freshmen and high school students 8:50 to 9:30 a. m. new seventh and eighth graders 9:45 to 10:45 a. m. and new sixth graders 10:50 to 11:50 a. m. six weeks of instruction run Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays through July 20 with a $7 registration fee.

Lt. Col. David C. Drake, about 40, died of a heart attack while on duty as military attache at the U S embassy in Asuncion Paraguay. His body was sent home to Breckenridge for funeral services. He and his wife Betty Jo Gault of Sohn have two daughters. He previously served at Goodfellow Air Force Base San Angelo.
