County Begins Harvest Of Bumper Grain Crop

The Martins brothers report one of the best harvests in over 20 years with 400 acres of wheat and oats. They started May 25 and expect three to four more weeks as oats run about 70 bushels per acre and wheat around 25. Prices are low but storage is ready in Doole bins.

A fast moving thundercloud dumped up to half an inch of rain on central McCulloch County Wednesday morning. The shower affected Brady and surrounding areas as residents reported brief heavy rain and clouds moving through the region.

Bulldogs Scoreboard Fund Rain Delights Spring Showers

Rain showers persisted across the county with measurable totals. Weather observer Jean Williams recorded Brady at .22 inch as gutters ran and lawns soaked. Rochelle gauges ranged .30 to .75 inch, the heaviest of the day. Fairview saw .50 inch, Lohn .20, and Voea only a trace.

Blood Bank Seeks Brady Donors on June 7

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Brady June 7 at the Fourth and Bridge Street Church of Christ. Supplies are very low due to high usage and some drives yielding low gains. Plan to give a pint of blood during the visit.
