City Golf Tournament Opens After July Qualifying
Brady Municipal Golf Course hosts the City Golf Tournament qualifying in late July with a July 30 deadline set by tournament chairman John Curtis. Singles matches run weekly leading to the finals on August 20. Entry is 5 dollars plus any green fees, funding trophies as stated by City Supt. James Feazelle. Players may enter by paying Curtis or at the pro shop.

The Central Texas Telephone Co operative schedules two district meetings for McCulloch Countians to nominate one director from each district. District 7 covers Mercury and Rochelle at 8 p m July 26 at the Rochelle Community Center, while District 8 for Doole Lohn and Melvin meets at 8 p m July 27 at the Lohn Tabernacle. Voters will cast ballots at the annual meetings October 2.

City council notes engine troubles at electric plant
The Brady council reported ongoing issues at the electric plant with a Cooper Bessemer engine’s air control valve causing outages. Enterprise engine runs fine. a new valve arrived and was installed. Other items included paving completion at Lakeview and Winters additions, setting Aug 18 for the employee barbecue, fire crew training credit, spillway damage cost sharing, Christmas decor planning, and a stop light study at 11th and Bridge Streets. The Parkview addition plat for 38 lots was accepted with city specifications.
