Tax Consultants Protest County Tax Valuations at Court

Bob Rash and Kirk Huffman representing McCulloch Electric Cooperative spoke to the Commissioners Court about steep county tax valuations set by Thomas Y. Pickett and Co. The commissioners did not take action. The court and City Council backed a resolution aligning with the San Saba RC&D to coordinate land conservation and economic development in the Concho Valley, with support from federal and state agencies.

McCulloch Youth Shine at San Saba FFA Rodeo

McCulloch County youth competed in the San Saba FFA Rodeo from Thursday through Saturday. Frankie Tomlinson won junior bull riding and placed second in breakaway roping. Jana Kidd won junior barrel racing with Dana and Lorri Atchison also competing. The Atchison sisters took second in goat tying. Mike Tomlinson also participated.

James Brown Services Friday

James Seldon Brown 64 of Brady died at 11 a m Wednesday of an apparent heart attack while a patron at Club Cafe. Funeral services 2 p m Friday in Wilkerson Memorial Chapel. Burial Rest Haven Cemetery. Born December 10 1911 in Dawson he lived in Brady six months. Survived by wife Lara Lankford three daughters a son a sister and a brother six grandchildren.
