Leslie R. Woodall seven of San Antonio died Monday at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center after an illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Wilkerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Ash officiating. Burial followed at Rest Haven Cemetery. He was born June 28 1968 in Wichita Falls and belonged to Universal City Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents Jerry D. Woodall and his wife of San Antonio. grandparents Tom Irvin of Brady and Mrs. Clara Werts of Midland. and sister Rhoda Lynn Woodall.
Billy Brown becomes business manager of the Brady Doctors Clinic effective Monday July 14. Brown is the former advertising manager for The Brady Standard Herald and a 21 year U S Air Force veteran who served in the security service. He is a Brady High School graduate and has attended multiple universities and Air Force management schools.
Supt. Carroll Tatom outlined the bills effect at the Brady Independent School District meeting. He detailed a teacher pay raise, higher maintenance and operations funds, and a 62.5 percent rise in state transportation funds. The plan allocates 653.296 million dollars in new state funds over two years with a Local Fund Assignment increase of 110 thousand dollars in 1975-76 and another 110 thousand in 1976-77.
An uninjured driver of a San Angelo Standard Times truck was pinned for about 45 minutes after losing control and hitting a rock wall near Memory Lane and Richards Park on U.S. 87. Fire crews used Jacks and pry bars to free him while he remained conscious. He was taken to Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital with leg and possible shoulder injuries. condition not updated.
The Brady Chamber committees propose a Monday night hostess program to welcome newcomers and share member business information. A late August social for newcomers is planned at Brady Lake. Bicentennial projects include Brady Creek cleanup, martins bird houses, and daily business flag display.
June 30 call shows deposits up about 5 million over last year and over 2 million versus April. Loans rise about 3 million from 1974 to 1975 with April gains near 1 million. Brady National, Commercial National, and Ranchlander National report strong year and quarter growth as Ranchlander tops 2 million in deposits for first time.
