Tom J Ivy of San Antonio former Placid and Deep Creek resident died June 29 after weeks of illness including strokes. Funeral July 2 at Mayfield Baptist Church with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Mrs. Jim White 88 a Rochelle pioneer died at 2 55 p m Wednesday at her daughter Mrs Carl Davenport home in San Angelo She was born February 14 1873 in Alabama and married November 11 1896 in Bartlett Her husband died in March 1954 and she had lived in San Angelo since then Survivors include her daughter and two sisters Exa Stewart of Breckenridge and Lula Hennon of Ranger.

Driver Misses Curve Crashes Into Gas Station Car
Hugo Otte of Camp San Saba cleared to hospital in fair condition after a 1957 Ford Ranchero left the eastbound curve at West Commerce and struck the car being serviced at Lee Sommerfeld’s Phillips 66 Station. Driver Robert Lee Taylor of Harlingen claimed he could not turn the wheel.

Twelve orange boxes on meters around the square and on South Blackburn accept envelopes with 25 cents and ticket. County Votes To Hire New Farm Agent
The County Commissioners Court voted Monday afternoon to hire a new county agent. County Judge Love Kimbrough spoke with Roy Huckabee who said he would locate the county an agent soon and mentioned several qualified men. Eight McCulloch County farmers urged a special election to vote on a county agent and other offices, but the panel postponed the election to next year due to cost. They also discussed reducing small rural voting boxes to save expenses but took no action.

Brady Guard Units to Leave Early for Fort Hood Camp
Parts of Prady's National Guard unit depart Sunday for Fort Hood as the 36th Infantry Division begins its annual summer encampment. The Brady Combat Support Company and detachment from Santa Anna join the division’s four battle groups, Second Medium Tank Battalion, and First Reconnaissance Squadron for early firing and maneuvers with M-48 tanks. The 15 day prelude runs mid-encampment, with main camp July 22 to August 6. units return home July 30.
