Voter Registration Deadline Is Friday in Brady Area
Friday is the last day to obtain voter registration in McCulloch County. The tax assessor office will close at 5 p m on Friday January 31. registrations postmarked before midnight Friday will be honored. About 3 450 people had registered by Thursday morning and a new record is expected. All adults 21 or older must have a certificate to vote, with those turning 21 in 1970 eligible to register before their birthday.

Bradyite's Husband Promoted To Brigadier General
Col. Robert E. Brofft, chief of Personnel Resources and Distribution at the Air Force Military Personnel Center, Randolph AFB, has been nominated for promotion to brigadier general. He will receive the star at Randolph. Brofft led the 99th Bomb Wing at Westover AFB and flew 31 WWII missions. He and his wife Wilma L. Miller of Brady have three children.

Brady High School senior David Whitworth is among 40 Texas youths named for Rural Youth Day at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo on February 14. The 4-H member for seven years, he earned the 1968 Gold Star boy and has led junior leaders while judging lambs wool mohair and other projects.
