Fred E. Cawyer 67 of Abilene died 6 30 p m Tuesday at Hendricks Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services were held Thursday at Elliott Funeral Home with graveside rites at Rest Haven Cemetery. He was a World War II Army veteran and a printer at The Brady Standard and Abilene Reporter News. He married LaNora Siler Patterson in 1952 in Brady and is survived by his wife two sons a daughter five brothers a sister and three grandchildren.
The First United Methodist Church marks its 100th anniversary on March 13 with morning services led by Bishop J. Chess Lovern of San Antonio and guests including former pastors and their families. A 1 p.m. luncheon in Fellowship Hall follows, then a parsonage reception for former pastors. Forwarding plans are led by Cen tennial Task Force head Rev. Jon Lowry and members L. B. Smith Mayme Hallam Ella J. Deaton Norman Lawler Bernice Brown Mary Glynn Todd and Jim Starr.
