War Games Delayed as Army Closes Brady Office
The Army postponed large scale maneuvers in Central Texas after failing to secure enough land rights. Exercise Blue Bolt was planned across 13 counties with Fort Hood troops using private land. In McCulloch County 80 percent of landowners signed on, while Lampasas and Coryell counties resisted and some farmers demanded payment per acre. The Army will proceed with small unit testing inside Fort Hood and evaluate data for future division phase tests. Brady office personnel credited seven field workers for success in McCulloch County and thanked local clerks for their service.
