New Fire Truck Due but Where Is Room for It
Alderman Hart Fowler told the City Council the fire department expects a new fire truck by January. With four trucks already at the station space is tight even if an older small truck is moved. The joint order by City and County last fall will be city run but could serve county calls. In other actions Oscar Dietz's Country Club ballroom manager position was accepted for resignation and ballroom reservations move to City Hall. Dog licenses expire December 31 and must be renewed by February 1 with two tags per dog. Brady CAP seeks downed plane in multi state search
Five Civil Air Patrol Brady squadron members flew two search planes all day Monday scanning 3,100 square miles across three states for a plane on a Flagstaff to Elgin AFB route. The aircraft was found near Pase with no survivors. Pilots were Major Cecil Striegier Captain Tommy Freckson Lt. M. D. Pinkerton 2nd Lt. Charlie Vinson and senior member John William Hughes.

The first session of the School of Christian Faith opened Sunday evening January 4 with an attendance of 77. Women of the First Christian Church served refreshments. The second session will be at 7 o'clock this Sunday evening at the First Methodist Church. Those who missed the first class can enroll for four more sessions. The school is a cooperative venture of six local churches.

Public Hearing Scheduled on Voca Highway Reroute
A public hearing on rerouting Farm-Market Road 724 to Brady is set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday January 21 at the National Guard Armory under federal highway act 1456. Officials prefer bringing the road to the Y at the south Brady city limit to spur industrial sites and commercial growth south east of Brady near the Santa Fe railroad.
