Mrs. Rey Tabor Holliday appointed by the Brady School Board will conduct the school census in January. Her husband Will assist. Superintendent A. Reynolds asks Brady residents to cooperate when she calls. She will count all children who are 4 years old on or before September 1 and all children over 14 on or before September 1.
Johnny Pradshaw and Fletcher Pields former Brady High School stars of the 1954 Bulldog team win varsity letters at Hardin Simmons University. Bradshaw played halfback last season while Fields moved to guard. Fields set a Cowboys record with a yard field goal.
UT professor De Charles Dent will address a joint Brady PTA units and City Council of PTA meeting on Thursday Jan 14 at 726 PM in the Brady High auditorium. He will discuss counseling for students selecting vocations and the Bach program under consideration. All interested citizens are invited to attend, with or without children in school.

The David Guion Music Club met Saturday December 19 at Mrs Norman Archer home for their Christmas meeting Twelve members attended and gifts were exchanged in a festive gathering featuring Cissy Gault and Peggy Smithwick.
Brady, owner Andy Olson will attend the Western Auto Merchandise Show in Dallas on January 11 with Daymon McHee and Lee Roy Kens ing. Olson cites demonstrations and clinics to improve service and planning for the year. The Dallas event is one of 16 January shows nationwide for more than 3,000 Western Auto Associate Stores. Edna Wirich and Evelyn Bryan plan to visit relatives during the holidays. The Concho County Singing Convention is set for Sunday January 16 at 2 PM at Eden Methodist Church with an invitation from secretary Frank Mualline.
District supervisor Harkey receives an annual banker award and the SCD leaders credit his nine year chairmanship of the San Saba Brady district for launching upstream flood prevention in the Middle Colorado River watershed. As president of the Middle Colorado Association he helped forge the Heart of Watersheds label and guided rapid easement clearance and project prep. His irrigated pecan orchard beside U.S. 190 near the San Saba River is noted.
