Dayton Boren Named Manager of Brady Gas Corp
Dayton Boren is named manager of the Brady Municipal Gas Corp succeeding Aubrey Bierman who resigns to team with his father Louis Bierman and Emmitt Herod to buy the Windrow Co. Boren, born in San Saba County, has lived in McCulloch County since 1952 and worked for the gas firm since 1966 after Pioneer Natural Gas Co. became part of it. He and his wife have three daughters Susan, a Texas Tech student, and Vicki and Gayla Brady High students. Bierman will step down March 31 after leading the company since 1966.

Brewster Named Winningest coach at Brady High
Charles Brewster, Brady High School basketball head coach, has 144 wins and 61 losses in seven years. His teams claimed district titles in 1962-63 and 1964-65 and bi district titles in 1967-68 and 1968-69. He arrived in 1961 as an assistant to Hol Whiteley and became head coach the following year. He also coached football, tennis, and served as scout and statistician, and teaches trigonometry and algebra in the summer. He is a Blanket High School valedictorian class of 1957.
