Brady High School unveils its 1966 golf season with an 18 hole Bastrop meet. After qualifying 14 players Huntington selects five low scorers led by Ted Arches 149 and Larry Breshers 154. The squad features Archers Dayton and Joe Archers along with Martin and Breshers in the lineup.

Ben Smith, now 87, recalls Brady in the 1880s and 1890s as a thriving frontier town. He describes mud and rocks on the square, prairie dog towns near the courthouse, and cattle drives for the Ford and Glenn ranches. He recalls burning acres of dry grass to renew pastures, the old Brady Creek, changing rainfall, and simple entertainment like skating at the town rink.

Five wells completed in the McCandless McCammon field Brown County add 20 years of supply to Brady Municipal Gas Corp. under a September contract.
