New Brady Laundromat Opens With Westinghouse Units
Brady debuts the Brady Half Hour Laundromat at Southbridge and East First Street across from Ford garage. Mr and Mrs A F Andrews of Brownwood open the store featuring two large hot water tanks and a 1200 water softener plus nine pound capacity Westinghouse coin operated units. Twenty four hour access, coin operated dryers at 25 cents, and soon vending soap and fabric care dispensers will be added. Patrons can run multiple machines for about 30 minutes while they shop nearby.

Army Invites Men to Join 4th Armored Division for Europe
Army recruiters in Brady announce openings for enlistment in the 4th Armored Division with a transfer to Europe this fall under Operation Gyroscope. Eligible men must pass the Armed Forces Qualification Test and commit to three years. Major Prange to Formosa Transfer with US Advisory Group
Major Ernest S Prange, son in law of Brady residents, will be transferred to Taiwan Formosa with the United States Military Advisory Group. Since May 1954 Major Prange has served as medical unit adviser. He will depart the U S with his wife and 3 year old daughter Any Marie to join his new post. Frances plans to visit Prange's father in San Antonio and his parents in Brady.
