The Rochelle Community Center, once the Santa Fe depot, reopened in 1956 and now serves as a hub for parties, showers, dances, meetings, and elections. Supported by the Rochelle Study Club, Lions Club, and Home Demonstration Club, it hosts 45 events in 1957 and features gifts, a piano, a water well fund, and ongoing improvements.

Monster Turnips Weigh Four Pounds At Camp San Saba

Family Loses All In Southeast Brady Blaze
Mr and Mrs Edgar R Jackson and their six children escaped a four room home fire that destroyed their house southeast of the Jendale Addition. Firefighters were summoned at 7 35 p m and the structure burned to the ground. Ar vie Wegner and Walter Gray sought donations of clothing bedding and furniture to assist the family and arrange pickups for items. The blind father wears size 38 or 40 and his wife size 18. Children include five boys ages 18 14 13 11 5 and a girl 9.

Bud Russell and Terry Mitchell, high school FFA members, showed lambs at the San Antonio Livestock Show. They did not place but earned a 50 cent premium above market price in the sale. C. B.
