City quits fight over water damaged home
The City Council agreed to pay a $2,000 judgment to Marion Lemons of 1700 Old Mason Road in a water damage suit. Lemons claimed caliche in streets diverted water onto his property, warping floors and misaligning doors and windows, while the city argued heavy spring rains caused the damage. The council opted not to appeal and ordered caliche removal to prevent further water diversion.

City to spend 27400 on West Commerce storm sewers
The City Council agreed to contribute 27400 to the State Highway Department for widening West Commerce U S 87. Funds cover curb gutter and a storm sewer system to fix dips at Church and High Streets.
