March 4 Last Day To File For Brady School Board
The Brady School Board set March 4 as the final filing date for candidates to run for two board seats in the April 4 election. Incumbents J. W. Harkrider and Dr. J. S. King are due to term out. Filing is at the city hall tax office. no filings yet. The board also approved a 3,536.33 payment from the athletic fund for the stadium grandstand, leaving about 12,000 owed.

Runaway 14-Year-Old Boy Sent Home After Police Check
Brady police returned a 14 year old Sweetwater runaway to his parents after a routine stop at the West Commerce Street bridge. He admitted leaving home under questioning and was given a bed at the jail overnight while authorities awaited his return. Police Chief Ted Lacey noted a second runaway found locally in the past week.

Lacey Plans Safety Program for Brady Schools

Gas Well Near Doole Brought Under Control
A gas well on the Wiley W Walker ranch five and a half miles east of Doole was controlled after two days of blowout.
