Fifty years of Protection in a Rochelle skit on Pure Food laws
Mrs James Boyd and Mrs Nels Swenson led a Rochelle Study Club skit at the Rochelle Community Center titled Where Did We Get the Label focusing on the Pure Food and Drug Act. The program traced meat handling laws from ancient times to 1906 with notes on Harvey Wiley and Upton Sinclair. In the business segment Mrs Kate Harris presented March of Dimes funds, Brownwood district workshop, and club treasury updates while members were served refreshments.
