Institute closes with praised sessions and local notes
The County Teachers Institute concludes its sessions hailed as the best ever with speeches by Dr. W. H. Bruce and Supt. W. L. Hughes on education. Local social items include the Fife girls winning 13 to 9 over Lohn, and a 500 club gathering for Mrs. Jack Nussbaum with prizes and a salad course.

Brady Hosts Busy County News and Theater Opens
The McCulloch County Teachers Institute opened at the Methodist church with Supt. J. F. Kimball delivering a strong opening address. Dr. W. H. Bruce spoke at the High School session. The county plans road improvements in District No. 1 under R. M. Russell using the oil-pull engine and road grader. Jesse A. Ballou closed a land deal with Carrizoro Cattle Ranch Co. and will occupy the Allen, Robson and Elder Springs property. A hunting party heads to Kerr County for deer and turkey. Ginning data shows McCulloch County at 15,510 bales by Dec 1, up from 12,161 last year. Brady buys Louisiana syrup for sharp prices. The Lyric Theatre dedication featured Nomia, or A Trip to India, a 30-person company with a large act. Willie Williamson claims the season’s biggest local porker at 420 pounds.
