County Officials Take Oath Jan 1 in Courthouse Ceremony
Newly elected county officials will take oath of office January 1 at 10 am in the courthouse. County Judge Ellington will administer to County Attorney Murray V. Jordan, Commissioner of Precinct 3 Oscar Persill, Commissioner of Precinct 1 Luke Vogel, Sheriff, and County Tax Assessor-Collector Hiertor Phe. The meeting also set 1965 appointments and budget actions. James P. Anderson appointed County Health Officer. A six month renewal for Rex Lewis birds on courthouse grounds approved. District courtroom seats and a Caterpillar No. 2 motor grader ad bids approved. $12 000 moved from the Sucker Road Ad Valorem Fund to precincts, allocation by percent based on road miles.

Beginning January 1 the 1965 school census will begin in Brady and must be completed by February 1. Mrs. W. A. Hicks is census trustee directed by Supt. C. A. Reynolds. Big Bobcat Trapped Near Lohn Feared Predator Destroyed

Winners in the Chamber of Commerce Christmas home decoration and lighting contest were announced Tuesday. The Billy Jackson family at 1707 S. Bradley won first prize of 25 dollars for a serene scene with mother and daughter decorating a Christmas tree, Santa nearby, and a boy watching TV. Second prize went to Garland Middletons at 614 Laurel Drive for an animated Santa and reindeer display. Third prize to Carl Schoenewolf at 1705 S. High for a mailbox overflow scene with a dog baying at the moon and Santa and his reindeer riding along the lawn.

Rabid Cat Attacks Doole Housewife
Mrs. Willie Daniels of Doole was attacked Sunday at her home by a rabid house cat. The animal was killed and tests later confirmed rabies. Daniels received hospital treatment and rabies serum shots. Deputy Sheriff Golden Jones transported the cat head for health tests.
