Superior Rating to Melvin FFA Chapter
W. O H. Pittard Jr supervisor of Area VI presented T. Wood with the Superior rating at the Vocational Agriculture Teachers In-Service Training program in Liano Monday afternoon. The award, originally to be given at the State TFA Convention in San Antonio in July, was delayed due to a typographical error that omitted Melvin's name. Pittard apologized to Wood and to the Chapter members. Melvin also received the Superior Award for the 1962-63 school year.

Plans Form For McCulloch Stock Show
The McCulloch County 1-H and FFA Livestock Show will be held in Brady at Richards Park show barns on Saturday January 9 with 120 lambs 22 hogs and five calves entered. County Agent Lovell Kuykendall says 4 H clubs and FFA chapters from Brady Melvin and Rochelle will participate. Weighing begins early and judging by Billy Kidd will follow after weights are set.

Last Rites Held Thursday For Renny Young
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Brady for Ronald M. Young 28 who died after an auto accident near Kountz on Dee. 9 at a Beaumont hospital. Rites were led by Rev. Charles Masaree with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of Dassetta a daughter from a former marriage a brother Kenneth Young and a sister Anita. Settlement Accepted In Anti-Trust Suit In Brady
The Brady City Council agreed to accept 580,000 as settlement from five major electrical suppliers in an anti trust suit begun in 1959. The council also approved Layne Texas Company to furnish pump equipment for water well No 2 and adopted a work able plan for a public housing project. FAA Approves Brady Airport Remodeling Plan
The FAA approved Brady’s participation in a dollar for dollar local airport remodeling project at Curtis Field. Lynda Hemphill daughter of Mr and Mrs J W Hemphill is the Melvin FFA Chapter sweetheart.
