Juvenile officer Norban A. Taylor of the Brady Police Department submitted his resignation effective January 14. He will take accrued vacation starting December 24 and requests retirement pay and salary through January 14 on or before January 1 as done for other ex-employees.
The First United Methodist Church presents the Christmas cantata "Carol of Christmas" by John W. Peterson at 8 p m Sunday. The choir is directed by Mrs Larry Smith with Mrs Norman Archer on organ James Price narrates and Mrs Jesse Tate is the feature soloist. A reception in the fellowship hall follows the program inviting the public.
Trustees amend the budget adding 5715 for unemployment compensation effective January 1 under a new law making public schools liable. Bids for a 12 passenger van were opened and Deans Motor Company's 6645 bid was accepted. Supt. Tatum reported Rockdale bi district gate receipts of 4609 and year total of 20871. The board approved ending free city area time during the senior trip.
