Brady ISD Adopts Jury Duty Pay Policy And District Updates
Brady Independent School District trustees approved a policy allowing five paid jury duty days for professional and non professional staff with over five days to be reviewed case by case. They accepted fire damage estimates at South Ward Elementary and chose a dual heater unit. Bids on a school bus and Greenbriar were rejected and staff changes included hiring Mrs. J W Britteen as bus driver. Board also approved 1971 72 audit and November disbursements and reported a net $1119 profit from the bi district football gate and received thanks from Santa Anna Schools for Brady’s playoff assistance.

Car Pole Collision in Rochelle Involves Three Vehicles
Wesley C. Bratton of Rochelle lost control of a 1972 Ford pickup at Third and Bridge Streets yesterday evening. He struck a light pole and then hit a 1973 Chevrolet pickup and a 1973 Chevrolet sedan on the Stephens Chevrolet lot before being treated at Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital.

Four Ohio men die in southern Illinois plane crash
A light plane bound Lima to Brady crashed in rugged Jackson County near Murphysboro, killing four Ohio men: pilot Joe Height, his father John Height, his grandfather, Joseph Height, and Frank Tomlinson of Lima. The aircraft departed Williamson County airport Friday and wreckage was found in a woody hilly area. Funeral services are pending at Wilkerson Funeral Home with rites expected soon.
