James Wilkinson owner says nine door prizes hourly including two imported hams two turkeys two batteries two $50 bills and a fencing jack. The Delta Steel Building at 200 East Main is a Brady staple for 40 years with Uniroyal tires and Reliable batteries and road and farm service.

Nomination Forms For Spring Races In Mails Soon

Racing secretary Robert Strickland says Spring Quarter Horse Futurity and Derby nominations will be mailed to owners. Races span April 15 and 22 at Rollie White Downs, with trials the first Sunday and finals the next. Total purses around 315 dollars for Futurity and 265 for Derby, with 10 fastest times qualifying for each race. Community support urged across McCulloch County.

Civic study panel formed on General Telephone rate request

Mayor Norman Lawler announced a 14 member committee to study the General Telephone rate hike, serving as an advisory body to the City Council. Brady business leaders meet to plan a larger Chamber of Commerce with a full-time manager. They estimate 80 to 90 days to set up and a budget of 20 000 to 25 000 dollars with dues raised three to four times. The group seeks active support from key local firms to form a stronger chamber or revert to current services.

Citizens Offer 2000 Toward City Ordinance Review

An anonymous group calling itself Interested Citizens offers to contribute up to 2000 to cover the cost of codifying city ordinances. They propose paying 1000 within 30 days of notice of disbursement and up to 1000 more upon completion, not to exceed 2000.

McCulloch County United Way Campaign Surpasses Goal

The 1972 United Way drive mobilized 64 volunteers and 844 businesses and individuals, raising 105 percent of the goal—the first time in over a decade. Mrs. G H Ricks thanks division chairmen and lists workers by division while urging late gifts to the Chamber of Commerce.
