Readers at the F. M. Richards Memorial Library find fresh titles on the shelves. New memorial additions in recent days include Winston Bode’s A Portrait of Pancho and a biography of J. Frank Dobie.
A large Blackwell family reunion gathered at Richarde Park with attendees spanning Brady Brownwood and Pecos Texas. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. J L Coodgain, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Blackwell, Mr. and Mrs. R D Blackwell, and many others. The event featured literary readings and a display of recent gift books.
Tuesday session at Brady First Baptist Church featured reports on treasury and nominating progress, September program focusing on God and Your Money, and a program titled Modern Fishermen. Prayer, meditation, and special music accompanied a day of business and study for the Woman's Missionary Union.
The Crumley family reunion took place last weekend at Richards Park. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Crumley of Salt Gap, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Sallee and family of Eldorado, Mr. and Mrs. Warren West and family of Midland, and several other Crumleys and relatives from San Antonio Doole Lancaster Lubbock Richland Springs Brady and Columbus.
Brady Chapter No. 167 of the Order of the Eastern Star hosts a tea honoring Mrs. Marie Kittle Deputy Grand Matron District 5 Section 1 Grand Chapter of Texas and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Lohn Jr. at Richards Memorial Library Clubroom Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. Visiting chapters lodges and assemblies are invited.
Miss Helen Maurie Snell became the bride of Donald Eugene Howard Saturday afternoon August 7 at 4 in St Marys Episcopal Church Lampasas. Rev Robert A Jackson officiated as brides gown featured pure silk organza lace over ta ffeta and a silk illusion veil. The couple plans to reside in Lampasas after a trip to New Orleans.
Miss Mary Rose bride elect of Ray Buck of Vega was honored with a gift tea on Tuesday evening from 7 30 to 9 00 in the home of Mrs C A Reynolds. Hostesses included Mrs Reynolds Mrs Ruth Sutton Mrs D A Howe Mrs Frances Gary and Henry McBroom with Mrs Reynolds mother of the bride and Mrs George Rose in the receiving line. House party members were the hostesses Elizabeth Ricks Susan Nixon Georgann Granville and Roseann Reynolds. Decorations featured blue and white colors with white net and taffeta on the serving table and a centerpiece of white gladiolas and carnations with blue tapers. About 45 guests attended.
Duke Jones son of Mr and Mrs Forrest Jones of El Paso visits Brady with grandmothers Mrs Virgil Jones and Mrs Nannie Matthews in a family trip to the area.
Provisions authorize a vote on a four year term for state representatives in 1965. If approved, no further action on House Joint Resolution No 1. If rejected, House Joint Resolution No 1 remains in effect and will be submitted again in November 1966.
The Johnsons and Turns reunion gathered Sunday Aug. 8 at Richards Park. Attendees included families from Austin Brady Rochelle San Antonio Hext and San Angelo, with numerous couples listed across the region.
