Brady High School to Register Students for New Year

Brady High School announces August 24 and 25 registration for the new school year with seniors at 8 40 a m and juniors at 1 30 p m on Monday and sophomores at 8 30 a m and freshmen at 1 30 p m on Tuesday. New students should pre register at the school and bring a 1 25 library fee, optional 8 insurance, and 1 parking sticker fee.

Brady's street study identifies Bridge Street as the main north south route and Commerce Street linking to the San Angelo highway. Eleventh and Seventeenth Streets serve rural and school access with wide rights of way reducing congestion around the courthouse square. Radios Buy Eight More For Brady Volunteer Firemen

City Council approves eight additional radio alarm units for volunteer firemen to fully equip the department. Units installed at volunteers homes stay silent until activated from the station, relaying location to guide responders. Old system required volunteers to travel to the station to learn the fire location.

Boy 15 Hurt In Auto Wreck Near Brady

Charles Timms, 15, sustained a severe cut on his left arm after a late night auto crash on a country road eight miles southwest of Brady. He was treated at Brady Hospital. The 1958 Oldsmobile owned by Charles Kemmitz was driven by 21 year old Stantford Henson. neither man was injured. The car sustained heavy damage.

The city reports low pressure from a troubled water well in Prady and tests on new mains. City Supt. James Feazelle says repairs should finish by week’s end, with rusted water possibly appearing for 7 to 10 days. City Golf Tournament Invites Local Players to Enter

The annual City Golf Tournament is set for August 23 with qualifying scores and a $5 entry due by Sunday. Chairman Sam McCollum says prizes will go to flight winners and runners-up as well as consolation winners and runners-up. Qualifying scores and fees may be submitted to Travis Oldham at the golf course by Sunday, with match schedules announced early next week.

Mr and Mrs H L Lackey attended a Big Spring reception Sunday August 2 at the Big Spring Country Club honoring Mr and Mrs W F Taylor on their Golden Wedding anniversary. The event was hosted by the Taylors’ two daughters and two sons, longtime friends dating to 1911 12 at North Texas Normal College in Denton.
