City audit shows deficit in general division amid rising fuel costs
An audit for the year ending April 30 1977 to the City Council shows the general division with revenue of 576 763 and expenses of 621 733 a loss of 44 970. Sewer electric and water divisions posted gains with net totals of 205 956 and 104 956 respectively. The report notes a bonded debt payment of 217 615 due next year and higher fuel costs at the power plant.

McCulloch County Surfaces Highlight Texas Highway Plan
Three resurfacing projects in McCulloch County are part of a Texas Legislature authorized highway improvement program. Ben Dilson notes U S 87 from its junction with U S 283 to Brady Creek, SH 71 to Liano, and FM 765 to Fife will receive asphalt and seal coats funded by General Revenue and state highway funds as part of a 6,900 mile statewide upgrade costing about 222.56 million dollars with 4.3 million set aside for later.
