About 1000 to 1100 members gathered in Brady High School auditorium Sunday for the Heart Of Texas Singers Union reunion. Mrs. A C Stewart Voca was reelected president for two years. Attendees came from across Texas and from Mexico, Oklahoma, and Alabama. The crowd filled the auditorium with standing room only. next year’s reunion is set for the same date and location, the fourth Sunday in April.

Buck Richards Library Extends Hours to Thursday Evenings

Lights Fail During Jubilee Float In Fiesta Flambeau
The July Jubilee float for the Fiesta Flambeau parade in San Antonio lost its lights when the power plant failed during judging. Workers retrieved a working engine before the parade, but the float entered the lineup in darkness. Jeannette St. Clair, Landa Bush, and Shirley Bratton rode the float, driven by Brady High seniors Bobby Woodard and Leslie Armstrong.

Cole Circus to Present 2 Shows in Brady Wednesday
The Cole Wild Animal Circus comes to Brady with two performances at 2 PM and 7 PM at Richards Park grounds. Setup begins in the morning as trucks arrive and tents are erected while cages are opened for a free inspection period to boost box office receipts. Tickets cost 50 cents for children and 99 cents for adults, tax included, with Lions Club handling sales.

Wool Field Day Set Wednesday
Extension Service wool specialist Jim Gray will hold a wool preparation field day at the Herman Rohde place in the Dodge community. The program starts at 10 a.m. All McCulloch County sheep men and local businessmen are invited. The Rohde place lies about a mile west and two miles south of the old Dodge school with signs marking the turnoff and gate.

Basil Wilson Duke, 81, retired Brady merchant, died at Brady Hospital Sunday night. He lived at 707 South Mesquite and left a wake of siblings including J M Duke of Brady and four sisters in Brady San Angelo Eden and San Francisco.
