Texas 23 congressional districts hearings open after May primaries
A Texas Legislative Council study group will hold extensive hearings on redrawing districts for 23 equal population seats after the May 2 primaries. The plan calls for roughly 416000 people per district with invitations already sent to congressmen and party officers for input. The U S Supreme Court has backed equal representation and the Houston court agreed the legislature should finalize redistricting in the 1965 regular session.
