Cancer Crusade House-to-House Drive Tuesday
The McCulloch County Unit of the American Cancer Society will conduct its annual house to house drive on Tuesday April 27 at 6 o clock in the evening. Volunteers from across the county will ring doorbells to ask for donations to this year’s Cancer Crusade and to pass out educational materials for all to read. Jubilee Directors Meet Monday To Plan Celebration
Jubilee Board of Directors will meet Monday night April 26 at 7 36 at the Plateau Restaurant to start plans for the July Jubilee and appoint chairmen and committees. The Jubilee float will skip the Fiesta Flambeau in San Antonio due to a broken car and the committee will buy a replacement to attend parades in nearby towns later this year.

Officials To Honor Townsend At Brady Dinner
State officials plan an Appreciation Dinner honoring Townsend ally Terry Townsend in Brady. Ben Barnes will present a plaque at 7:30 p.m. in First Christian Church Fellowship Hall with attendees from Austin including Rep. Nugent and Sen. Crump. Townsend, born February 2, 1935, a Brady attorney and longtime state representative, will be celebrated by local leaders and family.

Lee Kuykendall Dies Retired Fredonia Farmer at 88
Lee Kuykendall 88 of Fredonia died in Brady Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 30 p m in Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with burial in Wagram Cemetery Mason County. He lived in Fredonia 34 years and was born July 28 1876 in Gillespie County. He married Lillie Golf in 1904 at Fredonia. Survivors include his wife three sons Elvin Jess and Victor Kuykendall one daughter Zelma Williams two half sisters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
