City Council Certifies Winners After Saturday Election
The City Council canvassed votes at its regular meeting Tuesday night and certified Aubrey Davee as mayor, Leycester Moore for Place 1, James King for Place 2, and Kenneth Young for Place 5. They authorized a 30 minute truck parking limit on Burns Street, planned Richards Park equipment, installation of three mercury vapor street lights in Dodge Heights, noted 12 trees planted in Stanburn Park, and considered a ladies rest room at the race track. They also instructed staff to study an ordinance banning inoperable abandoned vehicles on Brady streets.

County Judge Calls School Election in Lohn District
Judge K O Ellington received a petition March 23 signed by 57 qualified voters of the Lohn Common School District asking for an election to decide if the district should become independent. Ellington ordered the vote for Saturday April 18 at the Lohn school building with Owen Rudolph as presiding judge and FE D Solsbery as alternate.
