City to Pay Off Simpson Lake Tract for Brady Lake

The City Council voted to pay 3985 to the court for the Simpson Lake tract needed for Brady Lake though the case remains in County Court. Perry Hartgraves, the city attorney, said possession and construction can proceed, with final costs uncertain. The Simpson Lake Club appeals and proposes an easement instead of purchase for 4.1 acres, a key lake area, while the highway department plans a Dodge road bridge that may affect right of way. The Texas Highway Commission awarded Cage Brothers of San Antonio a 155 186 dollar contract to sealcoat seventeen miles of farm to market roads in McCulloch County and five other counties. District Engineer E M Pritchard said work will take about 60 working days and includes 1 6 miles FM 502 6 2 miles FM 503 2 miles FM 504 3 8 miles FM 734 and 4 miles FM 1028 with Mercury Salt Gap Doole Pear Valley Voca and Placid as project limits.
